KERALA TRIP DETAILS

A 5-night, 6-day trip to Kerala from Kolkata is a classic "God’s Own Country" experience.

 It perfectly covers the misty tea gardens of Munnar, the spice-scented hills of Thekkady, and the iconic backwaters of Alleppey.

• By Air (Recommended): Take a flight from Kolkata (CCU) to Kochi (COK). While most flights involve a short layover (usually in Bangalore or Chennai), the travel time is around 5–6 hours.
• By Rail: If you prefer the rails, the Aronai Express (12508) or Gurudev SF Express (12660) from Shalimar/Santragachi takes about 40–44 hours.

 DAY 1

Arrive at Kochi Airport. Drive to Munnar (approx. 4 hrs). 

Stop at Cheeyappara & Valara Waterfalls en route. 

Evening walk through local tea markets.

DAY 2

Full day sightseeing: Eravikulam National Park (to see Nilgiri Tahr), Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, and the Tea Museum to learn about tea processing.

DAY 3

Drive to Thekkady (3.5 hrs). Visit a Spice Plantation (Pepper, Cardamom, Vanilla). Evening Kathakali dance or Kalaripayattu (martial arts) performance.

DAY 4

Morning boat ride in Periyar Lake for wildlife spotting. Drive to Alleppey (4 hrs). Board a Traditional Houseboat by lunch. Cruise through the backwaters.

DAY 5

Check out from the houseboat after breakfast. Drive to Kochi (1.5 hrs). Explore Fort Kochi, see the Chinese Fishing Nets, and visit the Jewish Synagogue.

DAY 6

ReturnMorning visit to Marine Drive for a view of the backwaters. Last-minute shopping at Lulu Mall before your flight back to Kolkata.
