TOUR PLAN OF BHUTAN

Route: Howrah → Hasimara → Thimphu → Punakha → Paro → Hasimara → Howrah

Day 1: 

Departure from Howrah

Journey: Board the Kanchankanya Express from Sealdah/Howrah in the evening.

Note: This is the most convenient train as it drops you directly at Hasimara the next morning.

Day 2: 

Hasimara to Thimphu

Morning: Reach Hasimara, drive to Phuentsholing (45 mins).

Process: Complete Immigration formalities.

Afternoon: Scenic drive to Thimphu (approx. 5-6 hours).

Stay: Hotel Druk Yul, Thimphu.

Day 3: 

Thimphu Sightseeing & Dochula Pass

Sightseeing: Buddha Dordenma (Giant Buddha), Memorial Chorten, and Tashichho Dzong.

Experience: Evening drive to Dochula Pass (3,100m) to see the 108 stupas and Himalayan peaks.

Stay: Hotel Druk Yul, Thimphu.

Day 4: 

Thimphu to Punakha (The Missing Link)

Travel: Drive to Punakha (approx. 2.5 hours from Dochula).

Highlights: Visit the Punakha Dzong (arguably the most beautiful in Bhutan) and walk across the Suspension Bridge.

Stay: Overnight in Punakha/Wangdue.

Day 5: 

Punakha to Paro

Travel: Return drive towards Paro (approx. 4 hours).

Sightseeing: Visit Chimi Lhakhang (The Fertility Temple) on the way. 

Reach Paro and visit Kyichu Lhakhang.

Stay: Gongu Boutique Hotel, Paro.

Day 6: 

Tiger’s Nest Trek

Activity: Full-day hike to Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest). It’s a steep but rewarding 4-5 hour round trip.

Alternative: If trekking isn't for you, visit Chele La Pass, the highest motorable point in Bhutan.

Stay: Gongu Boutique Hotel, Paro.

Day 7: 

Paro to Hasimara & Return Train

Morning: Drive back to Phuentsholing, complete exit formalities.

Evening: Reach Hasimara station to board the return train to Howrah.

Day 8: 

Arrive at Howrah

Reach Howrah/Sealdah in the morning with beautiful memories.
